(The Early Spring Street Trees, on Hyde Park)

Karel Capek, a Czech journalist and writer, wrote in "Anglicke Listy" that the most beautiful thing in England is trees.
Certainly, there were many old big trees of oak, ash, horse chestnut, elm hornbeam and beech etc in England everywhere.
As it is often leaden cloudy and the temperature is low in England, it seems to me that trees grow slowly and their branches spread out into every direction widely as if they were seeking for the light of the sun.
The old trees of English oak have their trunks and branches twisted and make their barks cracked and ridged roughly. The shapes of them have something dignified and noble themselves. They deserve to be called the "king " of English trees.
I saw many big trees that appeared to be as old as or more than several decades or a hundred years even on streets and in residential areas. Having grown up and branched out freely and widely without being cut, they stood and showed their beautiful shapes.
